That is a huge question, and every mom and baby pair is different, but this is what helped us get through the newborn phase.

Try to get some sleep whenever you can. One good nap can really help with perspective!

My first daughter started sleeping long stretches early on, but my second still needs to eat during the night at 9 months. When she was a newborn, I reminded myself over and over that it was normal for a newborn to eat throughout the day and night. Even though I wanted more continuous sleep, Eliza needed to eat every two or three hours. A comfy chair, Boppy, and ottoman eliminated the discomfort of night feedings. I tried to be grateful for the quiet time alone with her. It wasn't a good option for us, but safe co-sleeping can also improve your nighttime rest.
